Spine-Align

Fitting the back to the user (not the user to the back) is the goal of the Spine-Align posture conforming system. This is accomplished by combining a wide range of individual foam components to create unique shapes that optimise postural support, evenly distribute pressure and maximise function. The flexibility of the system is boundless.

To better understand how the system works, let's take a look at an example of a user with a "C" curve posture.

A before/after comparison, using Spine-Align.

In this case, a J3 back shallow contour (upper thoracic) is attached to the back posts. When the user sits against the back, their support is concentrated in a small area, resulting in instability and discomfort over time.

Using the angular adjustment capabilities of the new J3 hardware, the backrest angle is realigned to better match the shape of the spine. Once the angle is set, it is easy to add a medium triangle which will fit in the top and a large triangle fitting in the bottom. This results in a back that matches and supports the user, maximises pressure distribution to preserve skin integrity whilst improving stability, comfort and sitting tolerance.

How to use Spine-Align.

Adjusting the shape of the J3 back is easy. The foam shaping components slip between the shell and the cover without the need to opening the foam cover.

Velcro™ strips attach to each shape so they can be placed into multiple configurations.
